Borealis Lights

Borealis Lights in St. Albert is the capital region’s newest Christmas drive-through event. Located at the Kinsmen RV Park, this 800,000+ LED light experience features numerous displays and a dazzling drive-through tunnel that’s sure to impress. Best of all, a portion of every ticket sold will be donated to the St. Albert Kinsmen Club and its associated charities.

Canadian Tire Magic of Lights at RAD Torque Raceway

November 23, 2023 to January 6, 2024

Take in over a million festive lights spread across dozens of animated LED displays – all from the warmth and comfort of your vehicle. Located at the RAD Torque Raceway in Leduc County, the Canadian Tire Magic of Lights features 2.5 km of drivable track, highlighted by digital animations depicting everything from classic Christmas scenes to pop culture references.

Fort Edmonton Christmas Market

November 30, 2023 to December 17, 2023

Step back in time with Edmonton’s most highly anticipated Christmas market! With over 100 local vendors offering everything from handcrafted jewelry and baked goods to unique artwork and apparel, you’re sure to find the right gift for that special someone. But that’s not all! Other Fort Edmonton Christmas Market attractions include plenty of tasty treats, sleigh rides, live theatre performances, and, of course, Santa!

Leduc Country Lights

December 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023

Leduc’s premiere Christmas tradition, Leduc Country Lights has delighted families for 15 years. This iconic attraction features eight acres of walkable winter pathways, highlighted by countless twinkling lights and illuminated displays. Ultra-affordable, entry is just $2 per person, and food donations are appreciated. P.S. Don’t forget to watch for Santa when you’re there!

Glow Edmonton

December 1, 2023 to January 1, 2024

The quintessential holiday event that will leave you “glowing.” Glow YEG returns for another year of children’s activities, entertainment, food, drink and awe-inspiring light gardens. Visitors can also peruse the many wares of the Merry Makers Market and help Santa decorate his Christmas tree just in time for the holidays.

Head down to the Edmonton Valley Zoo for Zoominescence, a truly ‘paw’-some evening of lighting displays accompanied by the zoo’s many furred, finned and feathered friends. Families can also enjoy hot chocolate, live performances, animal talks, ice skating, light-up merchandise, and warming stations. Elsa and the Grinch will be on hand to meet with visitors and pose for photos.

Celebrate the Season With the Legislative Assembly

December 8, 2023 to December 23, 2023

For 35 years, the Alberta Legislature Grounds have served as a holiday gathering place for all ages thanks to its festive trees, illuminated pathways and a rotating schedule of musical performances. The Assembly’s official Light Up ceremony takes place at 5 pm on Thursday, December 7, 2023, after which attendees are encouraged to head to the Visitor Centre for a scavenger hunt, colouring stations, a visit from Rocky the Ram and more.

Candy Cane Lane

December 8, 2023 – January 1, 2024

Come one, come all, and experience the wonder of Candy Cane Lane – a time-honoured Edmonton tradition that has run every holiday season since its inception in 1968. This beloved event, located along 148th Street between 99 Avenue and 92 Avenue, is a testament to “community” via the many committed residents who create the festive displays that light the street. Candy Cane Lane is always free to visit, but a non-perishable food donation for the Edmonton Food Bank is requested.
