Golfers from St. Albert and surrounding areas will hit the tees on Aug. 17 at the Cougar Creek Golf Resort to support community kids at the 2017 Children First Golf Classic. The fundraising event supports the Boys and Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters to provide safe places and positive relationships for nearly 5,000 children and youth.
This year’s event marks Landrex Inc.’s 16th year as a presenting sponsor for the tournament, which raised more than $125,000 last year. The event is a testament to Landrex’s need to give back to support the community.
“Landrex is a company that truly cares about kids and about community,” says Liz O’Neill, Executive Director of Boys and Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area. “They’re an invaluable partner in every aspect of our work — donating additional funds when we need help, supporting our Dream Home Lottery, presenting our Golf Tournament and sponsoring our Lobster Lovers Feast.
“They have proven through so many ways that we can count on them for the long term because they’re invested in making sure our community’s kids have the tools they need to be successful.”
Everyone at Landrex supports each other. Their participation in the golf tournament is a perfect example of one of Landrex’s key missions — everyone works that day, whether that’s golfing, helping to set up the auction or working an activity at one of the holes.
Kali Broda, Sales and Marketing Coordinator at Landrex visited the McCauley Club this month to see the impact Landrex plays in the community.
“Landrex truly believes in Boys and Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters cause, and it’s so reassuring to see us creating a brighter future for our community kids,” Broda says.
