A core value at Landrex is fostering community stewardship within and beyond the boundaries of our neighbourhoods.

As part of that guiding principle, we believe in giving back to the Greater Edmonton area in support of local events, non-profit organizations, sports teams and recreational facilities to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

ST. ALBERT FARMERS' MARKET

Landrex has been part of the community of St. Albert for over three decades and continues to grow its relationship as the Presenting Authority for the St. Albert Farmers' Market. The Farmers' Market is one of St. Albert's most cherished and defining community events and is the largest outdoor farmers market in Western Canada. UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA

Larry has generously donated $1,000,000 to the University of Alberta to support the Landrex Distinguished Professorship in the Faculty of Arts. Currently, he is a member of the Chancellor's Circle, University of Alberta's most distinguished Appreciation Society.

Larry’s commitment to the Peter Lougheed Leadership College at the University of Alberta will provide formal leadership education through a mentoring and training experience that will attract, retain and inspire Alberta’s future leaders. The Andrews’ family foundation has committed to donating $1 million to the construction and maintenance of a family forum building, at $100,000 annually for 10 years beginning in 2015.

BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS

For more than 25 years, Landrex has been the primary sponsor of the Big Brothers Big Sisters dream home and, since 2001, has been the lead sponsor to the Big Brother/Big Sister Golf Tournament. In 2012, Larry received the President’s Award, sponsored by the Big Brother Big Sister Foundation.

BUSINESS LEADER CANADA'S VOLUNTEER AWARD

Landrex was the proud recipient of the Business Leader Canada’s Volunteer Award. This prestigious award is one of only a few presented by the Prime Minister’s office and recognized Landrex as the chosen recipient for the Prairie Provinces.

GOLD MEDAL PLATES SPONSOR

Landrex is proud to support the Canadian Culinary Championships and Canada's Olympic Athletes as part of our charitable focus. Gold Medal Plates is a celebration of Canadian Excellence in cuisine, wine, the arts and athletic achievement by featuring the premier chefs in 11 Canadian cities in a culinary competition.

ST.ALBERT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

In October of 2013, Landrex received the Chamber of Commerce Chair's Award of Distinction which is presented, at the discretion of the Chair, to a business that embodies and exhibits overall outstanding achievement and leadership in St. Albert, and an ongoing and consistent involvement in community events locally and provincially.

YOUVILLE HOME SPONSOR

As part our enduring commitment to enhance the quality of life in our partner communities, supporting the Youville Home in St. Albert was a natural fit. Donating $90,000 towards the construction of the Youville Home Auditorium was Landrex’s way of supporting the Capital Health Region’s leading faith-based care provider.

ESSO CUP SPONSOR

In 2011, Landrex celebrated 25 years of business in the St. Albert community. That same year, the City of St. Albert celebrated its 150th anniversary! These milestones aligned to make 2011 an ideal time for Landrex to step up and become the first corporate partner and biggest local sponsor donating $25,000.

DOW CENTENNIAL CENTRE SPONSOR

In 2007, Landrex became a naming sponsor of the Landrex Recreational Pavilion in addition to sponsoring the Dow Centennial Centre in Fort Saskatchewan. Along with Dow Chemical Company and Sherritt Gordon, Landrex was a key contributor to the centre’s completion

SUPPORTER OF ST.MICHAEL'S EXTENDED CARE SOCIETY

In 2015, Landrex was the presenting sponsor for St. Michael’s Extended Care Society’s, 9th Annual Blue Angel Dinner which raised over $130,000 in net proceeds, for the enhancement of programs, services and resident care of the elderly.

SERVUS CREDIT UNION PLACE SPONSOR

Landrex is one of the major sponsors of Servus Credit Union Place in St. Albert. In 2006, it became the naming sponsor of the Landrex Water Play Centre.
